November 1, 2011 Board Meeting Agenda Item #19 Title APPROVAL OF THE BOOKER HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL JAZZ ENSEMBLE FIELD TRIP TO BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ON MARCH 9, 2012 THROUGH MARCH 11, 2012 Description This an annual competition in which approximately 3,000 students from all over the east coast will participate.  Students will have the opportunity to observe various ensembles.  We are six time defending champions for Vocal Jazz Ensemble and four time defending champions for Jazz Combo.  Students will also tour the Berklee College of Music and have the opportunity to audition for scholarships. Recommendation That the Booker High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble field trip on March 9, 2012 through March 11, 2012, be approved. Contact WHITE & CANTEES Financial Impact N/A
